Titles (Jack)

Titles
  • We have decided to call our project 'The Silent Wood'. We felt this captured the idea of an enchanted wood, while also having connotions of being isolated and all alone in a creepy forest, devoid of sound.
Our one and only caption, used to serve as a bridge between the two scenes

  • We decided it would be best to use just one title throughought the whole film. We experimented with adding names of actors or producers however it really disrupted the sequence and took away the attention from the dream like state. We had already cut up the dream sequence with the shots of Amy sleeping, so we didn't think we could cut the sequence up twice.
  • We also felt it wouldn't look right if the titles of actors etc. went before the main name title. This is why we didn't include titles in the bedroom sequence

THE LOOK OF THE TITLE
  • After analysing other film titles and looking at the website, 'The Art of the Title', we decided it was important to have title movements that matched the context of the film.
  • In 'Catch Me If You Can', the title sequence revolves around men running and changing identities, much like the film
  • Well, in our sequence, the words 'The Silent Wood', softly appear into the centre, zoom in slowly and fade slowly. We felt this looked very dreamlike and thus matched the sequence very well.
  • The font of the title also looks particularly 'wood like', which again helped fit the context of the film
